Barb is a 1979 Cum Laude graduate of Michigan State University. While at MSU she also worked as Hospitality Director for Pop Entertainment. She later started working at the Pine Knob Box Office (currently named DTE Music Theatre). Barb then worked her way up to being a Promoter Rep / Production Manager for 22 years with Brass Ring Productions. She has been with Fantasee Lighting since 2004.

Randy started in the lighting business just out of high school utilizing lighting for local bands. His passion for lighting grew and he moved to Hollywood, CA. where he worked as a touring LD with national acts.
After a decade in California, Randy moved back to the Detroit area and worked on and off for Fantasee Lighting which in turn, landed him a full time job at the State Theatre doing live events, concerts and private parties for a dozen years. He next worked for PRG as a Project Manager for the auto show and trade show industry. Now a decade later, Randy and Fantasee have reunited, and he is thrilled to be back on the Fantasee Lighting team.

John attained his Bachelor of Science degree from Western Michigan University in Television Production in 1985. His initial ambitions focused in lighting supporting feature movie production. This led to 17 years in lighting production executing industrial, commercial, music videos and feature movies. In 2002 he transitioned to the audio visual industry in a sales capacity executing corporate business theater events. Since 2015 his account management role brings his initial lighting ambitions full circle offering clients turnkey lighting and rigging solutions at Fantasee Lighting.

After working freelance for Fantasee Lighting on and off for several years, Jon Weaver joined our staff starting in June of 2013. Jon received his Bachelor’s degree in Lighting Design from Eastern Kentucky University and a Masters of Fine Arts in Lighting Design from Wayne State University. Jon has worked with the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, The Santa Fe Opera, and The Metropolitan Opera of New York.
Field Service Project Manager

Brian is Fantasee Lighting’s Field Service Project Manager. He commissions, installs and maintains permanently installed lighting systems – from simple dimmer racks to extensive architectural LED displays. Brian has been an ETC Factory Authorized Service Provider since 2011 and came to Fantasee in 2014. As the world moves from incandescent and fluorescent lighting to LED, Brian expects to be increasingly busy.

Senior Project Manager

After High School, Nate attended the career center for electronics followed by a trade school for electronics, where he met Dave Pfeiffer. Dave would later found a lighting company in Redford, MI named Turning Point Services. Nate would help Dave build TPS for the next 14 years. In 2005, Nate joined the Fantasee Lighting team as part of the acquisition of Turning Point Services.
Operations Manager/Project Manager

Colin has BFA in Entertainment & Theatre Technology with a focus on lighting and set design from Michigan Technological University. He has worked nationally with the Rozsa Center for the Performing Arts, Huron Playhouse, and the Spoleto Festival. Colin is a certified Entertainment Electrician and Martin Repair technician. Colin has facilitated quality control, and repairs in addition to being a Project Manager at Fantasee Lighting since 2009. Colin became Operations Manager in 2015.
Clayton Gipson Jr

Clayton graduated from Western High School in Jackson, Michigan in 2008. He graduated head of his class with a 4.0 and was Valedictorian. Clayton & partner Kary are parents to 3 grown children. Clayton began working at Fantasee in 2011 as part time help and worked his way up with hard work and dedication. He’s has been head of the QC department since 2012 and is a Certified Warranty Martin Repair Tech. Clayton became Warehouse Supervisor in 2015
Tech Support Specialist

Nicole returned to us as Tech Support Specialist, after 6 years away heading the repair department at a large production company and serving as Warehouse Manager at an audio A/V company. She’s worked a range of events from the Super Bowl to the 80 stages of the 2016 political season. Nicole graduated from Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts then began freelancing in the industry, which fostered an in-depth understanding and love of lighting technologies.
Hoist / Rigging Repair

Jon handles repair and certification of CM chain hoists, on-site lighting, rigging and project management. Jon is a factory trained level two CM hoist technician who is studying for the ETCP Arena Rigging exam and holds a union card in Local 395 of Ann Arbor as a rigger. Jon has be en with Fantasee Lighting since 2007 and has been working in the entertainment industry since 2005 on shows ranging from The Rolling Stones to presidential campaigns.
Marketing & Sales Coordinator

Monica’s career began here in 1980, she recently returned as Marketing & Sales Coordinator after decades away in NYC helping to run some of the biggest advertising agencies (producing work for Procter & Gamble, Samsung, Sephora, Visa, etc) and public art programs (MTA/Arts for Transit and Acconci Studio) in the world. Her creative life experience comes back home to culminate in creating & communicating Fantasee Lighting’s vision for the new Detroit and beyond.

Sharon majored in accounting at Wayne State University, and is motivated by her curiosity to learn. She owned and operated a transportation business for 23 years. Sharon handles the human resources, payroll, as well as the accounting for the company. She has been with Fantasee Lighting since 2008.

Amanda holds a BA from Bethel College in Indiana, and joins the Fantasee team with a variety of work experiences from sales, to event planning and management, to reception and customer service. She works in the office, assisting with incoming calls and data entry. Amanda joined Fantasee in 2015.
